There has a great deal of media attention recently about our ageing population and the impact this will have on our health care system. The ARI reocgnises these challenges and as a result has released a position statement on the issue. Black Algae 5 Years ago  
Does anyone know how to get rid of black algae for GOOD without emptying your pool? (Have tried Lo-chlor's products - didnt work)

Yes reece,

Throw approx 10kg or dry chlorine over the effected area. Do this every night or at least (second night) until the problem has gone. This does two things, the dry clorine sits directly on top of the algae and also ensures you reach break point (0 combined chlorine) every night.

I saw an improvement with just two doses.
To prevent the black algae coming back ensure your vacuum is working effectively and superchlorinate regulary.
